New Zealand apricots are grown in a clean, safe environment. They are a large fruit with a distinctive rich flavour.

Variety Description
Dunstan There is not a lot of Dunstan planted. It is one of the earliest apricots available out of Central Otago. Dunstan eats well but cannot be stored for long.
Mascot Once again an early apricot with lot a lot planted in Central Otago. Similar to Dunstan
Sundrop A lot planted in Central Otago. A very bright apricot which sometimes struggles for flavour but travels well.
Clutha Sun Part of the Clutha series developed by HortResearch in New Zealand. Tastes good and travels well.
Clutha Gold Part of the Clutha series developed by HortResearch in New Zealand. Tastes very good and travels very well. This Apricot is the most popular apricot at the moment. A bit later than Clutha Sun.
Vulcan Growers struggle to get volume of this variety due to poor pollination characteristics. Currently many Vulcan trees are being chopped out. When you can get one Vulcan tastes good and travels well as well as being a large size.
Clutha Star Part of the Clutha series developed by HortResearch in New Zealand. Tastes good and travels well. Matures later than Clutha Gold and looks a little rougher.
Alex There is not a lot of Alex planted. It sizes well.
Southern Cross A late apricot which has been received well in the market. Has not been a lot fo plantings.
Nevis 168 (Genevieve)

Part of the Nevis series currently being developed of which Le Fresh has the exclusive marketing rights for product from New Zealand and Australia. This is the first variety from the programme to be commercialised. Last season was the first season with commercial shipments. Travels very well, eats very well and matures very late.

The next Nevis apricot to be commercialised is 150134, which matures mid February and stores very very well. It yields well and looks spectacular.
